Tesla Model S Plaid

Exterior Changes
Changes on the exterior are pretty light touch, couple of minor aesthetic changes along with the following:

  • Black Trim instead of chrome
  • Front grill
  • Front splitter
  • Fog lights
Interior Changes
Interior is where Tesla has really put the effort in on this update. It has gone through an almost complete overhaul and some super crazy features. Here are some we know of so far...
  • Steering wheel to Yoke Steering wheel same as roadster
  • Wide Screen instead of portrait
  • Screen tilt
  • Wireless chargers
  • Model 3 like Aircon controls
  • 3rd screen for backseat passengers
  • New sound system with 22 speakers and Active noise cancellation
  • Models: Long Range, Plaid and Plaid+
  • No gear selector
  • No indicator stalk
  • Ventilated seats
  • Backseat wireless charging
  • Model 3 style door handles

Long Range - The range is now simplified. Long range is the lowest or teh standard spec. It comes with all the usual options and has the following specs:

  • Dual motor
  • 412 miles
  • 0-62 in 3.1sec
  • 155mph top speed
Plaid Plaid is the the next trim up and it boasts some really awesome specs. There are now 3 motors instead of 2, range bumps down a little to 390 miles but what you loose in range you more than make up for it in performance in the form of 0-62mps in just 1.99 secs ! which is just absolutely bonkers. The top speed goes up to 200mph for those Autobahn loving electric car enthusiasts.

Plaid+ - Finally the pièce de résistance is the Plaid+ trim which puts everything else to shame with some ridiculous specs. It does seem like it will be using some new battery technology. As it will bump up the range to 520 miles, and 0-62 in less than, yes less than 1.99 secs. This is going to be insane!
It will keep the 200mpg top speed and according to Tesla it will boast the ability for the fastest quarter mile, making it the fastest production car ever.
